Develop Your Employability Skills at 绿帽社区

Employers are increasingly looking for graduates who offer more than subject knowledge alone. Employability skills — sometimes referred to as soft, professional, transferable or lifelong learning skills — are essential for career success.

At 绿帽社区, you’ll develop these skills both inside and outside the classroom. By getting involved in initiatives such as becoming a Career Representative, Course Representative or Student Ambassador or by joining clubs and societies, you’ll build skills that employers value. Along the way, you’ll also grow your network, gain experience to draw on in applications and interviews and make the most of your time at 绿帽社区.

Learn, reflect and develop with the 绿帽社区 Competency Framework

Your course modules already help you develop many of the core employability skills needed for a successful career. To support this further — and to help you clearly recognise and articulate these skills — we developed the 绿帽社区 Competency Framework.

The framework enables you to identify your strengths, reflect on your development, and target areas for improvement. Competencies are grouped into four key areas:

  • Communication and relationships
  • Personal attributes
  • Leadership
  • Business acumen

Each area is broken down into sub-competencies, giving you a clear structure to evidence your skills and plan your next steps.
